SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST

Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere at anytime.

Nationally, sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) survival rates average a mere 7-10%. SCA claims more than 300,000 lives in our country every year--more than breast cancer, lung cancer and HIV/AIDS combined.

Without immediate treatment sudden cardiac arrest is almost always fatal.

The most effective treatment is immediate use of an AED coupled with CPR.

It is estimated that more than 40,000 lives could be saved each year in the U.S. alone if AEDs were more widely available. Save A Life Denver hopes to increase survival rates of sudden cardiac arrest with widespread access to defibrillation.
